"Severe thunderstorms could develop in parts of the South Friday into Saturday from a powerhouse storm system moving from the West into the Plains states.
Southerly winds ahead of the storm will help draw moisture northward from the Gulf of Mexico into the Southern Plains. That moisture, in tandem with strong winds in the upper atmosphere, will help trigger the development of numerous showers and thunderstorms in the Plains.
Some of those thunderstorms could turn severe Friday afternoon and evening, particularly from north-central Texas into Oklahoma.
Damaging winds and hail could accompany the most intense storms. The potential for any tornado threat will depend on how unstable the atmosphere becomes, which is an uncertain factor at this time."
