    Macon picked up 2.34 inches of rain as thunderstorms exploded in Sunday’s record high of 108 degrees, which tied the city’s all-time high temperature. Some of the storms reached severe levels with 1.75-inch hail pelting Juliette at about 6 p.m. Sunday, according to preliminary damage reports from the National Weather Service.
