Monsoon rain will not be as intense as recent days across southern India into this weekend, but there can still be localized flooding and heat will build elsewhere.
The monsoon arrived with a fury last week in India, unleashing deadly flooding on parts of Kerala and Karnataka.
Monsoon rain will continue to affect parts of western India from Mumbai to Kochi into this weekend; however, flooding will become more localized.
Daily showers and thunderstorms are possible in Mumbai, but flooding will be sparse compared to the weekend when more than 150 mm (6 inches) fell in under 24 hours.
"That does not mean that residents should let their guard down," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski said. "Even isolated flooding incidents can still endanger lives and property."
Four people were reportedly killed when downpours triggered flooding and landslides in the hilly Kozhikode district of Kerala Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, according to The Hindu.
