Weather Prediction Center-Short Range Forecast Discussion

As of Saturday, November 17, 2018, the National Weather Prediction Center suggests that light snow will continue across parts of the central plains and middle Mississippi  Valley and will shift to the Great Lakes area by Sunday.

Afterward, a strong cold front will drop southward across the Great Lakes and will bring snow along the Upper parts of the Great Lakes by Sunday night into Monday morning. This effect will be from snow tapering off from the middle Mississippi and Ohio Valley as the surface front shifts eastward, and high-pressure winds pushing the snow across the Rockies and lower Great Lakes and Ohio Valley by Sunday.

Predictions also suggest that by Monday, the front will continue to push eastward toward the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, with a possibility of a mixture of rain showers and snow.

In the South, a deep southernly flow combined with an incoming cold front in South Texas will bring rain and thunderstorms, leading to possible flooding.

ADDITIONALLY:  Low humidity levels and gusty winds will contribute to the fire weather conditions in the Sacramento, California area through Sunday.
