Thursday's sloppy snowstorm was about a month earlier than most flakes usually fall on the First State, but the 3-plus inches seen in some areas can't compare to Delaware's record worst early snowfall. That came in Wilmington on Nov. 6 and 7, 1953, dumping 11.9 inches of snow, said Kevin Brinson, associate state climatologist and director of the Delaware Environmental Observing System.
