New Hurricane Warnings Issued in Eastern North Carolina Ahead of Dorian

New hurricane warnings have been issued for eastern North Carolina as Dorian continues its crawl up the Southeast coast into Friday.
Hurricane warnings now stretch from north of the Savannah River on the border between Georgia and South Carolina to the border between North Carolina and Virginia. This hurricane warning also includes the Albemarle and Pamlico Sounds.
The hurricane warnings in South Carolina include Hilton Head Island, Charleston and Myrtle Beach. Wilmington, Morehead City and Nags Head are included in the warning for North Carolina.
Dorian now has maximum sustained winds of 105 mph, making it a Category 2 on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Storm surge flooding, damaging winds and flooding rainfall are expected as Dorian hugs the Southeast coast into Friday.
