As of Sunday night, our winter storm in the Southeast is pulling away, taking heavy snow, ice and rain with it, but a couple of weaker disturbances lingering will keep parts of the Southeast damp or icy through Monday. Areas farther west stay quiet until at least Wednesday with a warmup. At midweek, a new storm will start to take shape in the middle of the nation. There's some question on exactly where this storm will track, but I think there will be another strong storm affecting the South later in the week. It will be a warmer storm with not a lot in the way of snow, but it will cause a soaking rain and thunderstorms. The severe storm risk looks to be low but not zero. The primary concern will be for flooding, especially in areas that have seen the heavy snow and ice this weekend.
