Fortunately, a cold front is providing relief. Let's track the cooldown and see if it will stick around for the long haul.

Tracking the Cooler Air
Monday's Highs
Monday's Highs
Cities such as Atlanta, Ga., Birmingham, Ala. and Charlotte, N.C. will again enjoy high temperatures in the upper 70s or low 80s.
High temperatures in the 60s and 70s will continue to dominate much of the Great Lakes and most of the Northeast.

Morning lows are a big part of the change as well. Monday morning commuters will be greeted with crisp upper 40s and low 50s in Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Detroit.
And muggy mornings have given way to fresh air in the South too, with Monday morning lows expected to range from 55 to 60 for cities such as Little Rock, Nashville, and Raleigh.
Will the Cooler Air Stick Around?
The answer to the question above is yes and no.For those of you in the East, a large dip in the jet stream will keep the cooler, drier air mass in place as we start the new work week.
In the Southern Plains, it's a different story as the jet stream begins to lift back northward. Say goodbye to the 80s in Oklahoma and Texas. Highs will jump back into the middle 90s for this region of the country. Temperatures in the 90s may actually surge as far north as North Dakota on Monday. Parts of South Dakota could even reach 100 degrees.
The 90s will continue in the Southern Plains into the middle part of this week, but from Nebraska to the Dakotas and Minnesota, another cold front will likely knock temperatures back down again by mid-week.
