Chicago Could See First Snow Next Week

The Chicago area could get its first taste of winter early next week.
Weather models show morning rain could mix with some wet snow on Monday as temperatures remain in the low-50s.
It's not uncommon for this time of year. Chicago usually sees its first appearance of snow on Oct. 30.
Area residents might also notice the weekend appearance of precipitation called graupel. It's similar to hail but it's not quite as solid and takes on more of an icy mix.
Graupel could pop up during evening showers on Saturday, especially in the northern suburbs, but isn't expected to accumulate.
The first part of the weekend looks rainy in the afternoon hours with a high temperature of 54 degrees. Sunshine returns Sunday with slightly higher temps in the low 60s.
Don't forget those rain boots on your way out the door on Monday. A 30 percent chance of rain is expected along with possible snow.
