The presence of widespread chilly air across much of the central and eastern U.S. will tend to suppress thunderstorm development in most areas over the next several days.

Scattered thunderstorm activity will spark up again in the Four Corner States on Friday.
These thunderstorms will push into Texas over the weekend. Though a few storms could turn severe in west and central Texas on Saturday, the overall threat is low.
Next week, a new storm system will take shape. This could bring a return of some severe storms to portions of the central and southern states, however details are very uncertain at this time.
