Severe storms returned to Florida Thursday, bringing a flood threat and spawning waterspouts, as waves of nasty weather hit the state."An intensifying low pressure system is sweeping across Florida this afternoon, bringing a large area of rain and thunderstorms," said weather.com meteorologist Chris Dolce. "The greatest threat of severe thunderstorms with localized damaging wind gusts and perhaps a tornado or two will be in central and southern sections of the state through late-afternoon. This threat could linger into early evening in far southeast Florida." A tornado watch was issued for areas south of Orlando and Sarasota. The watch will last through 7 p.m. EST. Lightning, hail and damaging winds are among the threats Thursday afternoon, but a few isolated tornadoes are also possible. West of downtown Miami, the PGA Tour's World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship was suspended for two-and-a-half hours with storms in the area; Play resumed at 4:45 p.m. EST. Major League Baseball spring training games were also been affected by the storms. At least five games were canceled.
