According to this article, the Pacific Northwest is in for some heavy rain this week/weekend.
A parade of Pacific storms that began last week will continue to impact the Northwest into the coming weekend. This
additional heavy rainfall will, and already has, triggered localized
urban flooding and will push rivers above flood stage in parts of
western Washington and western Oregon. Since the beginning of this wet
weather pattern nearly a foot of rain has fallen in at least one
location near Washington's Olympic Mountains. Feet of snow will also
pile up in the Cascades, and other mountain chains from this Pacific
onslaught. Record rainfall has already brought flooding to the
Portland, Oregon area to start the work week and the risk of flooding
will continue into Thursday.
Every time I hear about flooding, it seems to be in the same general area. I could not imagine living in an area where you have to be in constant worry of a flood and extremely severe weather. Living in Chicago is bad enough for me..having to deal with extreme heat and occasionally extreme cold weather.
