Hot weather appears to be heading into Michigan late next week. In fact, when looking at next Thursday, Sept. 3, it could be the hottest temperatures on that date since 1953.
The heat won't be a flash in the pan. Most indications are temperatures around 90 degrees or warmer will stretch from next Thursday, Sept. 3, right through Sunday, Sept. 7.
All of the weather data has been consistently showing hot temperatures for the second half of next week. The first graphic above shows the projected high temperature from our U.S. computer model called the GFS. It's the coolest of the models we look at. The European Medium Range Model (Euro) is even hotter, warming many spots into the mid-90s next Thursday.
The 6-10 day and 8-14 day temperature forecasts take us to Sept. 9. There is no end in sight to the heat through the first nine days of September.
