A Santa Ana wind event is shaping up for Southern California at a prime time of year for wildfire danger.
Through Saturday, offshore winds - winds blowing from land toward the ocean - will prevail across SoCal, thanks to a strong high pressure zone setting up over the Northern Rockies and the Great Basin.
