Rain, Snow, Thunderstorms Return to Central States

A strong cold front will move across the nation's midsection to start the week. This will result in a wide variety of weather impacts ranging from heavy rain and severe storms to snow and wind.

Rainfall Forecast
Tuesday, the cold front should push into the Mississippi Valley, but lingering moisture may continue wrapping around the surface low into the northern Plains.
For now, it appears some lingering wrap-around wet snow is likely at least through early Tuesday in the Black Hills. Rain may have changed to wet snow in lower elevations of northeast Wyoming, western South Dakota, northwest Nebraska, and possibly southwest North Dakota. That said, this event does not appear likely to produce anywhere near the magnitude of snow in lower elevations, as Winter Storm Atlas did.
