Severe weather knocks out power in NW Albuquerque, Santa Fe

Power lines downed by severe weather on Thursday afternoon knocked out power to thousands of PNM customers in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
According to PNM, an outage impacting 1,635 customers was reported before 1 p.m. The boundaries stretched north to south from Paseo del Norte to Solar Road and east to west from 2nd St. to the Rio Grande. As of 2:22 p.m., PNM says power has been restored to all of the customers in this area.
Another outage affecting 1,138 customers was reported not long after. The outage stretches north to south from Tyler Road to Montano Road and east to west from Commercial Street to Rio Grande Boulevard.
In Santa Fe, 1,773 customers lost power. PNM believed the outage was weather related.
Service was restored to most customers in both areas within an hour.
