The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 4 p.m. Tuesday for much of the are just north of Baton Rouge, including northeastern East Baton Rouge Parish, and parts of East Feliciana and St. Helena parishes, including the cities of Zachary, Clinton and Greensburg.
At 3:21 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing nickel size hail and damaging winds in excess of 69 mph was reported 7 miles southeast of Clinton, moving northeast at 35 mph. Other locations in the warning area include Darlington, Greensburg and Easleyville.
A tornado watch remains in effect for much of southeastern Louisiana north of Lake Pontchartrain until 9 p.m. Tuesday
