Britain will bask in mini heatwave this weekend as temperatures soar to 20C
Saturday will be the sunniest day for most parts after a chilly, frosty night - the highest temperature, in the mid-teens, are expected in the West and South West
Much of Britain will bask in a mini-heatwave this bank holiday weekend.
The best of the sizzling sun is likely across central and southern England, with temperatures soaring to 20C, says the Met Office.
Saturday will be the sunniest day for most parts after a chilly, frosty night. The highest temperatures , in the mid-teens, are expected in the West and South West.
On Sunday, southern and south-eastern parts will enjoy the best weather, with South Coast beaches such as Brighton expected to be packed with sun-seekers.
Most regions will also have a fine bank holiday Monday.
Chief meteorologist Eddy Carroll said: “It looks as though much of the UK will enjoy some pleasant spring weather this weekend.
"Although the nights and mornings will be chilly, it should feel pleasantly warm in the daytime sunshine.
“The best of that warm sunshine is likely across central and southern parts of England.
"Northern parts of the UK look set to have some rather changeable conditions, but even here there will be some brighter and drier spells, especially in the East.”
