San Diego is about to get some wet weather, although this is not the start of our rainy season (or really have anything to do with the current El Nino out there!).
What's left of Hurricane Linda is a huge blob of moisture out over the ocean. It's currently situated to our southwest and the circulation of this blob has been responsible for San Diego's incredible humidity the past several days - along with the very hot overnight temperatures.
Now, a trough of low pressure is setting up along the coastline to start the week, and this trough will pick up this blob of moisture and direct it into San Diego's skies. All that residual moisture, along with the atmospheric dynamics of the low pressure trough will trigger some rainfall for San Diego over the next 36 hours.
