Poland Drought Unearths Artifacts from 20th Century

Poland Drought Reveals Buried 20th-Century Artifacts

This summer Poland experienced a critical drought with very dry conditions. As a result, the Vistula River near Warsaw has nearly dried up. "In August alone, only 7.62 mm (0.3 inches) was recorded compared to the normal 71.12 mm (2.8 inches)." One positive that came out of this was that the river revealed some interesting items from World War II. Among the items found, were two fighter planes, one with human remains.

They also discovered Jewish tombstones, Soviet uniforms, a parachute, boots, and some radio equipment. All of the items found have been placed in a museum.
