Snow and Heavy Storms this Week

I did my first snow map of the season for the push of cold air coming down the front range of the Rockies. The typical upslope regions of Montana and Wyoming will see 3-6 inches of snow with snow flakes mixed with the rain coming out into the Dakotas. As the storm wraps up Thursday, a band of 1-3 inches will develop across northern Minnesota into western Ontario.
The typhoon did recurve in the Pacific and that means by next weekend, colder weather is coming into the Great Lakes and Northeast. I can see snow showers developing early next week across the Great Lakes. There is a big difference between the Euro and GFS on the extent of the cold air, but given the track record of the Euro, I am sticking with the GFS solution on the cold air next week.
The other map below depicts the areas of heavy storms today and Tuesday. Mainly hail and gusty winds will be the main impacts.
