An intense typhoon roared into the southern Philippines on Tuesday bringing heavy rain and wind gusts of 210 km/h.
Typhoon Bopha has triggered landslides, destroyed homes and has killed dozens of people, authorities said.
The storm struck the large southern island of Mindanao, which is rarely in the direct path of tropical cyclones.
