The threat of severe thunderstorms will linger in the Deep South this weekend. Thankfully, any weekend severe weather will pale by many orders of magnitude the destruction of the 2011 Superoutbreak, two years ago.
Saturday, the severe threat will stretch from the Lower Mississippi Valley to Texas. Large hail, brief damaging winds, and, perhaps, an isolated tornado are the threats in these areas.
Sunday, the severe threat is perhaps a bit lower, but will persist in parts of the Deep South, with brief damaging winds and heavy rainfall the primary threats from the more vigorous thunderstorms.
