Strong storms throughout Central Florida

Summer-like storms are pushing their way up from South Florida, bringing heavy rain, winds and lightning to Central Florida.
Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for northeastern Marion, northeastern Osceola and northern Brevard counties have expired. The storm is moving into Putnam County, and may enter Flagler County in the next half hour or so.
We are also seeing strong storms throughout central and east Orange County, Osceola County, eastern Seminole County, Volusia County and Brevard County.
On top of heavy rain and lightning, we also are experiencing hail in some area. There were reports of hail in Heathrow.
There are two separate changes occurring in the atmosphere over Florida that will be changing our overall weather pattern through this coming work week.  At the surface, a warm and high humidity air mass is working its way up from South Florida, and in the upper levels, a trough of low pressure and cold air aloft will be moving in over the state and lingering.
The combination of warm, moist air at the surface and cold, dry air in the upper levels, will set the stage for plenty of afternoon showers and thunderstorms this week.  Most of the activity this week will occur in the late afternoons during the heat of the day and will linger well into the evening hours.
Showers and some thunderstorms are expected to develop this evening and move quickly to the north and east.  Expect cloudy skies and muggy conditions, with lows in the middle to upper 60s.  The long-range forecast does indicate lower rain chances by Friday and into the weekend and a return to a more typical pattern for late in the dry-season, however, lingering moisture will keep the chance for shower and thunderstorms in the forecast this weekend
