Weather Authority Jessica Starr say rain showers will quiet down around midday before we see some clearing. That along with a south wind drawing more moisture into the region will help fuel our storm chances, mainly late afternoon or evening.
The Storm Prediction Center has all of southeast Michigan in the slight risk for severe weather. Our main threat being hail, possibly strong winds and the tornado threat isn't high, but it's also not quite zero. So, it's one of those days you'll want to keep an eye on the weather as we roll through the second half of the day.
You can always download the FOX 2 Weather App in the Apple or Android store, the link is also at the bottom of this page. It will send you all the latest watches and warnings put out by the National Weather Service for your location.
With all that said, I think there will be some time to get out and enjoy the warmer weather this afternoon, just be wary that severe weather conditions can change in a hurry.
As for the rest of the week -- rain chances will linger and temperatures fall back into the 50s on Thursday and Friday.
So when does our soggy pattern end? Looking drier Sunday/Monday.
Today: Mostly cloudy. Morning rain, possibly heavy at times. Afternoon/evening storm chance. Possibly severe. SSE wind 10-20 mph
Tonight: Storm chance early. A few rain showers. Low 53.
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy. Chance rain, thunder. High 66.
App: FOX 2 Weather app
The app includes interactive radar and provides push alerts to let you know when severe weather occurs.
