Three years ago the US saw tornado season that was so active that 1691 tornados were recorded. April saw the most highest monthly tornado count with 758 recorded twisters. This year is a having a slow start. So far only 109 tornadoes have been reported. Another difference that shows a trend is when the tornados are starting up. The average start date has not changed but in recent decades have seen more early ramp-up of the tornados season. Although the number of tornadoes per day has been increasing over the years, but the number of days with tornadoes has gone down with the long term average numbers of tornadoes again not changing.
