Severe thunderstorms are possible throughout Eastern Carolina today and Wednesday.
The main threats are damaging wind gusts, hail and isolated tornadoes.
Temperatures climbing into the 80s in the afternoons on these days will set the stage for severe weather.
Some wind gusts could be in excess of 60 miles per hour. Golf-ball sized hail is also possible, as are tornadoes.
Recent tornadoes in our area are a reminder that Eastern Carolina is in a very active spring severe weather season, and we should all remain very aware should storms threaten.
We'll likely see another round of showers and storms on Thursday before the storm finally moves out to sea that night or Friday, with more tranquil conditions to follow for the weekend.
