2,000 people were without electric power at 10:30 a.m.Friday, Sept. 11, as high temperatures persist in the San Bernardino, Riverside and Los Angeles counties.

The "extreme heat conditions" have caused equipment to malfunction throughout Southern California'a 50,000 mile service territory, according to an SCE news release. The area hardest hit is the Inland Empire, officials said.
