THE Sunshine Coast is sweltering through a scorching summer's day with the mercury passing 35C in parts. At midday, it was 35.2C at Sunshine Coast Airport with the apparent temperature slightly higher at 35.5C. It has since dropped to 30.4C. In Nambour, temperatures passed 30C at 9.30am and risen to 33.5C at noon and 34.6C at 12.30pm, while Beerburrum was sitting at 35.5C. The highest forecast temperature for today was 38C at Nambour. "But this is unusual weather. It's very, very hot and records are being broken.
