Slow-moving snowstorm to unload up to 30 cm of snow in Ukraine by Thursday

A potent winter storm will bring heavy snow to parts of Ukraine in the coming days and bring impacts to Poland, Belarus and Russia.
The storm will track northward from the Black Sea into Ukraine on Tuesday before stalling over the country from Wednesday into Friday.
The heaviest snow will fall from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday before tapering off to occasional snow and snow showers for Thursday and Friday.
Locations from Kryvyi Rih to Kyiv will face the worst of the storm, with 15-25 mm (6-10 inches) falling in many areas. The hardest-hit locations could receive up to 30 cm (12 inches) of snow by the end of the day on Thursday.
Travel could be brought to a halt during the worst of the storm with lingering impacts to air travel for several days.
Other locations at risk for significant travel disruptions due to heavy snowfall include Dnipro, Poltava and Cherkasy.
