Weather finally cools down in Northern California

The stretch of 90-degree days in Sacramento ended Monday when the city recorded a high of 87 downtown.
Prior to Monday, Sacramento experienced 15 consecutive days of 90 degrees or higher temperatures, falling short of the record 20 days set in 1899.
The National Weather Service expects that moderate winds through the delta will persist the next few days, helping to keep temperatures in the 80s.
The NWS forecast for the next week in the Sacramento region:
Today: Sunny, with a high near 85. South wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable in the morning.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. West southwest wind 7 to 10 mph becoming south after midnight.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 84. South wind 5 to 7 mph.
