One of my favorite hikes during my time in Colorado as a graduate student was on a cold day with low clouds, drizzle and fog. Well, actually I headed to the high country to escape this Front Range gloom.
The following web cam still capture was taken Friday evening, October 5, 2010 from the summit of Pikes Peak, at 14,110 feet above sea level, looking east.
No, that's not accumulated snow you're seeing, but rather the top of an extensive low-level cloud deck that had socked in much of Colorado's eastern Plains that day.
