Hurricane Might be hitting Texas.

The KENS 5 First Alert Weather Team is continuing to keep a close watch on Tropical Storm Ingrid as it churns westward in the Gulf of Mexico toward a Monday landfall.

The latest track calls for Ingrid to come ashore, at either Category 1 or 2 strength, near Tampico, Mexico, on Monday morning. Mexico also was dealing with Tropical Storm Manuel, which came ashore from the Pacific Ocean on Sunday in the southwesternpart of the country.

The outer tropical bands of Hurricane Ingrid could reach as far north as San Antonio, but the most significant moisture and rain threat appears to be over deep south Texas.

There is a potential for flooding Monday and Tuesday along and south of a line from Corpus Christi to Laredo and back down to Brownsville.

A moist, humid tropical air mass will be in place across south-central Texas this entire week. Considering the latest path on Ingrid’s landfall, most of the heavy rain will fall well south of San Antonio, said KENS 5 meteorologist Bill Taylor.
If the storm jogs north any, our rain chances will increase through Tuesday and Wednesday. But for now, a 30 to 40 percent chance is the best San Antonio will see through midweek.
