In the Northeast, 90s are forecast along I-95 from Virginia to Vermont. Many towns are flirting with record high temperatures as well.Washington, D.C. is forecast to push near its daily record high of 98. LaGuardia Airport in NYC is within a few degrees of reaching its daily record high of 96. Worcester, Mass. will make a run for a the daily record of 91. Even Buffalo, N.Y. will push toward their daily record high of 87.
With all this heat, scattered severe thunderstorms are expected to flare up Wednesday from northern New England through the Appalachians, with a threat of damaging winds and large hail.
