Severe Snow = Severe Flooding

Fort Wayne specifically is under a watch for severe flooding in the spring. With the heavy snow falls this winter, it is predicted that the accumulated snow will cause severe flooding when the first spring rain storm hits. The Fort Wayne region's snow pact holds the frozen equivalent of 2 to 4 inches of rain. A series of warmer weather in the 30s and 40s would make the melting of the snow less harmful. The area is hoping that heavy rain will not come their way while the snow is still packed up high in the area. Without a doubt, warmer air and heavy rains would cause destructive flooding.
