WINTER STORM PAX Northeast, Mid Atlantic for forecast

WEDNESDAY NIGHT.                                              THURSDAY

After bringing damaging ice and heavy snow to the South, Winter Storm Pax will impact the Northeast through late week, including the heavily populated Northeast I-95 corridor.
Starting Wednesday night and continuing into Thursday, low pressure will slide up near or off the east coast.

The timing: As our forecast maps illustrate, the snow will start Wednesday night in the Middle Atlantic, possibly including WashingtonBaltimore andPhiladelphia. From there, the snow will then spread northward through the Northeast region Thursday morning into Thursday night, including near or northwest of New York CityHartford, Conn.and Bangor, Maine. Friday morning, snow may continue in parts of New England before finally ending later in the day.
How much snow: At this time, we expect a swath of 4 to 12 inches in a corridor from Virginia to Maryland, eastern Pennsylvania, northern New Jersey, southeast New York and New England.
Also  mentioning, if the low pressure system tracks closer to the coast, the snow could mix with or change to sleet or rain for a time in locations near the coast from Washington to New York City, keeping the heaviest snow totals to the north and west of that corridor.
