Heavy rain moved slowly across the Gulf Coast on Sunday night into Monday, triggering flash flooding in the South.
The hardest hit areas are parts of central Alabama, along with central Mississippi and Georgia. One person died after their car was washed into a creek in the Atlanta suburb of Lilburn Monday. Recovery crews also found the body of a 9-year-old Yazoo City girl, who authorities say was swept away by flash flood waters.
