Mississippi Storms

Straight-line winds damaged at least 20 camper trailers in a southern Mississippi town Monday night, leaving two people injured.
Along with multiple overturned trailers, trees and power lines were downed by the strong storm that travaged the Santa Maria RV Park in Gautier, Miss., according to the Associated Press. The storm came through just before 8 p.m. local time Monday.
One man was trapped under storm damage and had to be rescued by the fire department, MSNewsNow.com reported.
No severe weather warnings were issued by the National Weather Service in the area when the damaging storm blew through.
"Archived radar indicates a cluster of thunderstorms accelerated and took on a bow-shaped appearance around the time of the Gautier event," said weather.com senior meteorologist Ederman "This is suggestive of straight-line wind damage."
The town along the Gulf Coast also experienced flooding on coastlines following heavy, prolonged rainfall Monday, Gautier Mayor Gordon Gollott told KWCH-TV
