Severe weather likely in Central Georgia

Severe weather likely in Central Georgia

Central Georgia is likely to see severe weather Tuesday. Two or three rounds of storms are forecast to roll through the area tomorrow. After we looked at the latest model runs, listened to the National Weather Service briefing, and organized a forecast it appears Tuesday afternoon brings us the greatest threat for strong thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes.
Storms that develop across Mississippi and Alabama this evening will play a factor in our weather tomorrow. Where storms fire and roll through overnight tonight will affect the timing and strength of storms in our area tomorrow.
Tuesday morning we expect a squall line to move through central Georgia with embedded heavy rain and thunderstorms. Primary concerns with this round of storms are damaging winds and hail. It looks like those storms will move into central Georgia around 8 or 9 a.m. and last through lunchtime
