DiCaprio presented a speech on climate change. He says, "droughts are intensifying, our oceans are acidifying with methane plumes rising up from the ocean floor, we are seeing extreme weather events in the west antarctic and Greenland ice sheets melting at unprecedented rates decades ahead of scientific projection," in attempt to present factual evidence that accelerated climate change is here right now. He proposes that decisive, large-scale action is necessary by industries and governments around the world by means of putting price tags on carbon emissions, eliminate government subsidies for all oil, coal, and gas companies, and end free ride that industrial polluters had been given in the name of free market economy. He says, "Renewable energy is not only achievable, but good economic policy."
