Intense thunderstorms swept through the Las Vegas area on Tuesday. It flooded washes, delayed flights, and caused traffic prompting helicopter rescues of stranded motorists in water filled intersections. Authorities recommended residents in 45 southeast Las Vegas homes damaged by flooding to leave just in case the damage starts electrical fires. Dozens of cars had water up to the headlights. It was the wettest September day in Las Vegas on record with 1.18" of rain.
