The National Weather Service first issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Las Vegas valley just after 5 p.m. The storm moved quickly, but it had winds of up to 60 mph, according to the weather service.
Doppler radar showed how widespread the storm was, reaching across most of the valley. It also moved almost directly down the center Clark County. The weather service also issued a flood advisory, warning of minor street flooding.
