New CAA controls ban helicopters from flying in severe North Sea weather

Because of the Puma tragedy in August 2013, where 4 people died, there has been stricter flight safety rules for offshore helicopters. The ban is targeting flights in North Sea specially flying in the most severe weather since there has been a string of crashes in the recent years.  With the stricter rules it includes that it is required to enhanced safety equipment such as extra flotation devices for helicopters and emergency breathing systems for passengers.  Also, passengers are only able to fly if they are seated next to an emergency window exit.  With these stricter rules they are hoping that there will be less accidents and fatality.
