HYANNIS – Severe weather that prompted a tornado warning for Martha’s Vineyard and the western side of Cape Cod rolled through the region Monday morning.
The National Weather Service issued the tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings around 9 a.m.
Reports indicated a 65 mph wind gust in the Woods Hole passage just before 10 a.m. and a confirmed water spout south of Woods Hole around 9:50 a.m.
The storm moved quickly over the Vineyard and on to Cape Cod, delivering heavy rain and strong winds across Falmouth, Mashpee, Bourne and parts of Barnstable.
It was also expected to impact portions of Truro and Provincetown.
