While a major snowstorm is not in the cards, rounds of snow showers and a fresh blast of wintry air could lead to travel disruptions across the Great Lakes and Northeast later this week.
Chilly weather will remain in place across the eastern U.S. throughout the week, so the uptick in wind speeds and drop in temperatures Thursday into Friday will feel exceptionally frosty.
Winds are expected to blow out of the northwest on Thursday, allowing frigid arctic air to spill across the Great Lakes and into the Northeast.
Along with blustery winds and dropping RealFeel® temperatures, this set up will promote the formation of lake-effect snow, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Brett Edwards.
