The alert warned wild weather would hit about 8pm on Wednesday, bringing with it winds up to 90km/h.
"The Bureau of Meteorology advised a strong high pressure ridge to the south of the state and a developing low pressure centre offshore from the Lower West will produce strong and gusty easterly winds over the Perth metropolitan area and particularly over the Perth hills," the statement said.
