The system is forecast to be a tropical storm by the time it finally reaches the coast of Baja California, Mexico, early next week.
A tropical storm is a system with sustained wind speeds from 39 to 73 mph (63 to 117 km/h), which are capable of downing trees and power lines, resulting in property damage, power outages and travel disruptions. Communities in central and northern Baja California should begin to prepare for this potentially disruptive weather.
Additionally, Rosa is expected to produce potentially dangerous amounts of rainfall that will spread over areas far beyond the shores of Mexico.
