Japanese Typhoon

Typhoon Lan makes an appearance on the eastern coast of Japan prompting evacuations in order to avoid casualties resulting from the typhoon. With the typhoon moving with winds as fast as 59 kilometers per hour (37 mph), it has been identified as a Category 2 storm due to sustaining winds of 165 kilometers per hour (100 mph).

Though the typhoon brought with it heavy rainfalls in areas not directly affected by the storm, it did eventually weaken as it left Japan altogether However, it did create floods in the streets and at least four people pronounced dead as a result of the storm.
