There have been changes to the current weather pattern in Africa. As the seasonal rainfalls have arrived, they've caused floods as a result of above-average moisture conditions. This also brings to light what the next rainfalls will be and how this will change the seasonal weather in Africa.
In the west of Africa, despite rainfalls having decreased exponentially, the rainfalls that have come to pass manages to create floods in those regions. This is what was estimated according to the following article on ReliefWeb: "Over 100mm of rain was recorded in Niamey last week. Other areas that received heavy rain (>100mm) include eastern Burkina Faso, northern Benin, Guinea, and Sierra Leone (Figure 1). Rains have begun to lessen across the Sahel and little to no rain was observed in southern Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana."
