La Nina is making its course in the U.S., but there are issues present that allow for dangerous wildfires to spread as a result of La Nina. La Nina causes the season to be drier than than what is usually expected, but this has created drought in parts of the west and midwest, southeast, and southwest.
According to the Abilene Reporter News article, because of the intensity of the drought, if it were to rain or snow, nothing would really change. In other words, plant life will have a difficult time growing under these conditions. This has brought attention to how drought will affect agriculture in states like Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas and how large wildfires will be in said states. In the meantime, the wildfires themselves are being observed to see how they will be contained.
